Awards

Unless otherwise specifically indicated, the entities providing the awards are not clients of Michael A Dubis Financial Planning, LLC (MFP), and MFP did not pay a fee to be considered for the award. Rankings and/or recognition by unaffiliated rating services and/or publications should not be construed by a client or prospective client as a guarantee that they will experience a certain level of results if MPF is engaged, or continues to be engaged, to provide investment advisory services, or should it be construed as a current or past endorsement of MFP by any of its clients. Rankings published by magazines, and others, generally base their selections exclusively on information prepared and/or submitted by the recognized adviser. Rankings are generally limited to participating advisers. Please see the Disclaimers page for additional information.

Registered Investment Advisers (“RIAs”) commonly receive awards, designations, or are ranked among other RIAs by third party publications. In our case, we view the receipt of such awards, designations, or rankings (collectively, “Awards,”) as validation of a job well-done; this is why we advertise the receipt of Awards.

However, the advertisement of such an Award, even though it is granted by a third party, carries the obligation of prominently displayed disclosures.  As such...Rankings and/or recognition by unaffiliated rating services and/or publications should not be construed by a client or prospective client as a guarantee that he/she will experience a certain level of results if MFP is engaged, or continues to be engaged, to provide investment advisory services, nor should it be construed as a current or past endorsement of MFP by any of its clients.  Rankings published by magazines, and others, generally base their selections exclusively on information prepared and/or submitted by the recognized adviser. Rankings are generally limited to participating advisers.

The following "Awards" were given to Michael A Dubis referenced throughout this website.  It is important to note MFP did not pay for any of these awards, the entities granting the awards are not clients of MPF, and all three awards were independently granted.

1. Medical Economics 2010 Best Advisor.  This was the only year MFP received this award and the last year MFP applied for the award.  Prior to 2011, Medical Economics required an involved review process and 10 years of experience before awarding this designation.  This process is not available online to reference, but the process was conducted independently of MFP.  After 2010, Medical Economics was sold to another publication company and no longer required what MFP thought was reasonable diligence.  MFP refused to participate in the award process since MFP believed that the award was primarily given out if one was willing to pay for the award.  MFP never paid Medical Economics to be awarded the 2010 nomination and refused to prospectively.  The 2010 award was independently granted

2. InBusiness 40 Under 40.  MFP was awarded this in 2003 for his contributions to the community and for starting a business.  The 2003 nomination process is not available online, but the process was conducted independently  of MFP. A current nomination process can be found here.  http://www.ibmadison.com/In-Business-Madison/Surveys/40-Under-40-Submission-Form/  MFP did not pay for this award.  MFP currently writes for IBMadison, but was not writing for IBMadison when he received the award. The 2003 award was independently granted.

3.  Investment News 40 Under 40.  MFP was awarded this in 2014 for his contributions to the industry.  MFP was nominated by another advisor. Investment News then requested MFP complete a detailed intake to determine eligibility for the award.  The 2014 application is not available online, but the 2016 application can be found here.  http://www.investmentnews.com/article/20160301/FREE/160309998/nominate-your-best-for-investmentnews-40-under-40.  Additional information can be found here.  http://www.investmentnews.com/section/awards-and-recognition/40-under-40.  MFP did not pay to be awarded this nomination.  The 2014 award was independently granted.

Rankings and/or recognition by unaffiliated rating services and/or publications should not be construed by a client or prospective client as a guarantee that he/she will experience a certain level of results if MFP is engaged, or continues to be engaged, to provide investment advisory services, nor should it be construed as a current or past endorsement of MFP by any of its clients.  Rankings published by magazines, and others, generally base their selections exclusively on information prepared and/or submitted by the recognized adviser. Rankings are generally limited to participating advisers.

We believe we have considered the various factors necessary to advertise an Award while also prominently display disclosures to accompany the Award advertisement.
